Monção e Melgaço Open Cellars

Forget stuffy, pinky-in-the-air wine tastings. This event turns the historic birthplace of Alvarinho into a sprawling paradise. Between 10 AM and 7 PM, 14 rebel rockstar producers throw their doors wide open for casual cellar pours, aged vertical tastings (featuring icons like Deu-La-Deu), blind workshops, local food pairings, and vineyard sunset parties. Wineries include Adega de Monção, Quinta de Soalheiro, Quintas de Melgaço, Falua – Quinta do Hospital, PROVAM, Palácio da Brejoeira, Quinta do Mascanho, Quinta da Torre – Anselmo Mendes, Quinta das Alvaianas, Quinta do Louridal, Valados de Melgaço, Quinta de Santiago, Quinta das Pereirinhas, and Quinta de Alderiz. Some spots are open to all, while premium experiences require booking directly with the makers.
