People like to say “nobody reads anymore.” And then they say "nobody drinks anymore.” Far from the truth. In reality, people read and drink all the time—just mostly not great stuff.

I’ve been at this wine thing for about 15 years—everything from making bottles sound better than they are to poking around the darker corners of business journalism. Settled in magic Oporto, which is both scenic and alarmingly convenient for someone who drinks for a living, I have little to complain about.

This project is my excuse to do what I like best: send questionable messages, tell stories that may not get me invited, and drink Portuguese wine like there's no tomorrow.
